Marathon Update and Santa Special!

Well the marathon is over and congrats go out to John Crew, who on Sunday became the 1st U.S. born male runner to win the Philadelphia Marathon since 2000. The 25-year-old Crew completed the 26.2 mile trek in 2 hours, 17 minutes and 15 seconds. Canadian resident Jutta Merilainen won the woman’s race in 2:46:44.

The holidays are a big deal here in Philly, and there’s no better place to get in the spirit than Peddlers Village. Beautifully decorated in Victorian style with fruit wreaths and greenery, the Village goes all out with live entertainment, photos with Santa on Fridays & Saturdays, and an Annual Christmas Parade that starts at 1:30 sharp on Saturday, December 5, when Santa arrives in a horse-drawn carriage accompanied by local scout troops and heralded by the Central Bucks East Marching Band. You’ll find one-of-a-kind gifts throughout the 18th century style village, with more than 70 specialty shops and restaurants.

We’re celebrating the holidays at Roosevelt Inn with a Santa Special – up to 2 people in a room pay just $80 per night (plus tax) for Friday and Saturday, and just $75 per night (plus tax) on Sunday-Thursday. To keep even more money in your pocket to shop with, go to http://www.roosinn.com/ and download a discount coupon worth $10.00 off those low per-night rates. Who says there isn’t any Santa Claus?
